Lincoln Cathedral

Lincoln Cathedral, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Europe and home to the famous Lincoln Imp, was looking for a graphic designer who could work closely with their in-house marketing team. Their aim was to produce a range of designs that would help promote the cathedral and the events that they host. As well as wanting to stand out and appeal to their target audience, it was vital that each design had a consistent look and feel, to help with brand recognition.

One of our main aims was to ensure each design felt like it belonged to Cathedral and that it was consistent and recognisable. With many different internal departments working on a vast array of events and projects, there was a range of looks and styles being produced so when we teamed up with them, we felt it was important to get a hold of their branding. By narrowing the number of typefaces used, and using a flexible colour palette, the designs we’ve produced ensure each design now has a sense of familiarity.

We have since gone on to create a range of designs for one of Lincolnshire’s most famous landmarks. Whether we’re designing literature or social graphics to promote a specific event, producing a simple, functional piece such as an application form or something a little more illustrative like a children’s activity sheet, each piece is now recognisable as a design for Lincoln Cathedral.
