Awarenest

Nottingham-based coaching service, Awarenest, aims to create a world where people realise their potential not by acquiring skills but by simply developing awareness. They approached Balance Designs at the beginning of their journey as they looked to create a logo that matched their relaxed, honest and optimistic approach whilst appealing to both individuals and corporate clients.

Working with Wayne at Balance is an absolute joy. He really took the time to learn and understand about my business and my ideas for how I wanted my branding to look and feel. Exceptionally great value for the service received and the fantastic end product.

After initial discussions, we learnt that ‘nest’ was added to the business name because a key part of their service is to ensure their customers felt relaxed and safe. They create a coaching environment for their clients where meaningful conversations can be had and where clients can focus their mind to achieve their goals. We wanted the brand to be an expansion of its personality and create a logo that helped reflect the service they provide.

To match the brands' laid-back approach, we felt that a simple design was best. The final design features a simple wordmark that is accompanied by a bird mark.

We wanted the bird to represent Awarenest’s clients. After using their coaching service, they will have gained enough confidence and awareness to be able to fledge the nest. The bird can either be viewed as an origami bird or as a bird created from five separate puzzle pieces. Both concepts bring together the idea of realising our potential and that we all have it in us to be our best if we apply ourselves correctly.

Within the wordmark, we emboldened the word ‘nest’ to highlight this key aspect of the business. By removing the serif from the top of the 's', we formed a curve that flows up to the top of the ‘t’ to create a subtle negative space nest for the bird to fly from.
