Purple Robot
Lincolnshire-based marketing agency, Purple Robot, have been good friends of Balance Designs for quite a while now and we’ve collaborated on many projects together. Towards the end of 2020 though, rather than producing designs to deliver marketing strategies for their clients, we were asked to help with the all-important task of a rebrand.

Established in 2013, Purple Robot have steadily built themselves up to be one of the East Midlands go-to marketing agencies. But as they entered 2021, and following the addition of new services such as market research, training and mentoring, the company wanted a new look that appeared more sophisticated whilst still capturing the fun, approachable feel that had been built with their previous branding.
As part of the rebrand, we explored a new colour palette that echoed the refined yet playful feel the business wanted to portray. The rich, “Aubergine” purple will serve as the foundation of the company’s new look while bright “Blush” pink, a sunny “Marigold” yellow and a “Sea Green” will serve as complimentary colours that will help their future designs pop and bring the character to the brand.
We then began work on a new logo design. The aim was to create a design that looked bold and professional. Although the existing logo captured the feeling of fun, there was a belief that the quirky look may not appeal to everyone so a slightly more “grown-up” feel felt like the right direction to go.
A new bold logotype was designed to give a no-nonsense and to-the-point feel. Tweaks to the ‘u’, ‘l’, ‘b’ and ‘t’ were added to give a feeling of putting pieces together. This was to represent all the aspects of marketing that are put together to create a concise marketing strategy where all the elements work together. The upward slashes also add a positive feel, symbolising the progress that is made by a successful marketing campaign.
The optional addition of a simplified retro robot head to the logo, a nod to their existing logo, is available to use when injecting a bit more personality into their communication is appropriate.
In addition to the colour palette and logo design, we’ve gone on to design a comprehensive brand guidelines document, business stationery, website design and marketing materials.
